Some people can't imagine being married to the same person for over half a century . . . but this is NOT one of those stories.
A woman in Anderson, South Carolina named Jimmie Sue Swilling was born with one kidney, and it's been failing. But no one in her family is a donor match, so her husband of 56 years decided to save her life and FIND a kidney for her.
For the past year, 78-year-old Larry Swilling has been walking around wearing a sign that says, "Need kidney 4 wife." And he also posted the same message on his truck. (Someone seriously needed to tell this guy about Facebook.)
Well, last week they DID finally find a kidney, which is being donated by a woman in Virginia Beach . . . apparently because she saw their story on the news.
And Jimmie Sue says she never doubted that Larry would come through for her. She told the local news, quote, "I knew it was going to happen, because I know him. He wouldn't have stopped until he got me one."
The life-saving surgery could happen as early as this Thursday. (WPTV / Fox Carolina / Gawker)
