A Kid Got Separated From His Group at a 5K Race . . . So a 19-Year-Old Marine Ran with Him the Rest of the Way

A 19-year-old Marine named Myles Kerr was on leave in Charlevoix, Michigan last weekend.  (In the northern part of the state, right on Lake Michigan.)
And on Saturday, he decided to run in a 5k race with friends while he was wearing his boots, military fatigues, and a backpack.
But during the race, Myles noticed a 9-year-old named Boden running by himself.  Boden had somehow been separated from the people he was running with, and asked Myles if THEY could run together.
Eventually, Myles' friends finished the race, and started to worry when they realized he wasn't right behind them.  But eventually, they spotted him coming around the last turn . . . with Boden running right next to him.
Along the way, Boden had gotten tired and wanted to quit . . . but Myles motivated him to keep going, and they finished the race together.  And actually, according to the official times, Myles let Boden BEAT him by five seconds.
He also made sure Boden was reunited with his group after the race was over.  And now a photo of them running together is getting passed around on Facebook.  ( / Facebook)
