Chances are, you've heard someone say that eating five or six small meals a day is the best way to lose weight. And chances are you believed them.
But according to a new study, that might not be the case. And actually, eating two BIG meals might be the way to go.
54 patients with type 2 diabetes took part in the study, and the ones who ate a big breakfast and a big lunch lost more weight than the ones who ate six smaller meals throughout the day. In fact, they lost 50 PERCENT more weight on average.
In 2010, another study published in the British Journal of Nutrition had similar results. That one found that eating THREE times a day was just as good as eating six smaller meals.
Basically, they say that to lose weight, you should eat a huge breakfast, a big lunch, and a small dinner . . . or no dinner at all. (Bloomberg)
