All Day 2nd Annual Bark in the Park: Canines for K-9 The 2nd Annual Bark in the Park: Canines for K-9 returns to Concord’s White Park on Saturday, April 26th from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. This rain or shine event is presented by the Concord Public Safety Foundation (CPSF), with proceeds benefitting future restoration of a K-9 unit at Concord Police Department. Attendance is free at the family-friendly Bark in the Park, where nonstop programming in the main show ring, demonstrations, instant winner raffles, competitions, and educational opportunities are made possible with support from Finlayson’s Pet Care Center and NHTI’s Criminal Justice Club. There will be opportunities for family dogs to become part of the action, as they compete in the costume parade, best trick competition, best features dog show, and obedience. K-9 working dog Fanto returns for police dog demonstrations, along with his handler Sgt. Nick Hodgen from Hillsboro Police Department. The Concord Insider’s Keith Testa and NH Public Radio’s Taylor Quimby join other local notables inside the bite suit for Fanto’s working demonstrations. Pope Memorial SPCA of Concord Merrimack County will be onsite to install microchips, and four-legged friends can get dental checks from Russell Animal Hospital. Vendors and exhibitors include Animal Allies, Brown Paw Bakery, Casey Jones Bones, Dancing Owl Photography, Libby’s Haven for Senior Canines, and No Monkey Business Dog Training. There will be tasty treats for dog owners, from local favorites The Crust + Crumb and Puppy Love Hot Dogs.
