20th Annual Holiday Party to Benefit New Horizons
On the morning of December 25st 2013, Milly’s Tavern will be providing Christmas breakfast for New Horizons of New Hampshire. New Horizons is Manchester’s local homeless shelter that offers housing and food services to people and families in need. This is our 20th year providing Christmas breakfast and every year we have been able to feed at least 250 people. If you’ve ever wanted to see the meaning of Christmas you can see it in the faces of those people who attend. They are so thankful for a warm free meal on Christmas day.
Leading up to Christmas day, Milly’s will also throw their annual Holiday party on Saturday December 21st at 7pm also to benefit New Horizons. We will be accepting money, clothing and non-perishable items. The night will feature a silent auction, live entertainment all night as well as an appetizer Buffet. Tickets are available for $10 at Milly’s Tavern or by contacting New Horizons. 100% of the proceeds of this event go to New Horizons of New Hampshire.
Last year we were lucky enough to collect enough gifts for all who attended our Christmas breakfast (warm clothing, mittens, gloves, hats and socks were distributed during the morning festivities.)
We hope that you will help make this Christmas breakfast the best yet. We will accept any donations of money, food or clothing from now until Christmas at Milly’s Tavern. In addition, New Horizons will be given all the left over food from the breakfast to use back at the shelter for the rest of the holiday week. Also those who have attended in the past have enjoyed taking a small gift or food item with them thanks to all the donations we received leading up to the holiday
If you have any questions about the breakfast of the annual holiday party, please feel free to call us at the restaurant at (603) 625-4444. Donation will be accepted at the restaurant anytime before Christmas. If you would like to donate to the silent auction all items must be received by December 19th 2013.
Cool and worthy Christmas music event
Whatever you do this Christmas, don't, don't, don't miss Kangaralien. This Boston-based acoustic guitar duo will be playing selections from their brand new Christmas album, "Moose Cookies and Milk: An Acoustic Guitar Christmas" at the Kimball Jenkins School of Art Carriage House on Saturday, December 21 at 7:30 p.m.
In the spirit of the season, the event is "pay-what-you-can." The band's expenses have been covered by an anonymous benefactor and all admission payments will go to benefit Kimball-Jenkins School of Art. Suggested donation: $10
In addition, Kangaralien will donate 20% of their T-shirt and CD sales to the school.
Kangaralien is a superbly talented gypsy jazz duo who entertain with their high-energy virtuosity. Their Christmas CD is a blend of uplifting holiday music and whimsical storytelling, both of which will be on display at their Kimball Jenkins performance. Opening for Kangaralien will be Hopkinton resident, singer/songwriter/guitarist Thomas Knight.
